The Sleepy Hollows Miscellaneous entries are a group of utility items added by the Sleepy Hollows mod. They include the mod's core material, a second ingredient, a sanity food, a container of random gear, a ritual altar, a banner and a decorative fence. Most of them relate to the Sanity mechanic and the Sleepy Hollows biome. Spectral Essence matters most early on, because Luminous Water, the Hauntbound Armor set and the boss ritual all depend on it.

The group covers seven entries: Spectral Essence, Essence of Undead, Candy Corn, Loot Bag, Pedestal, Sleepy Hollows Standard (the completionist banner) and Wrought Iron Fence. The Pedestal is the only one that acts as a ritual trigger. It starts the summoning of the Headless Horseman.

Obtaining

Spectral Essence is the most common of these items. Infected Zombies drop 0 to 2 Spectral Essence on death, and coffin chests in the Sleepy Hollows Cemetery contain it in 23.0% of chests (an average of 2.1 when present). Tombstones also give it in their gift loot. It has no crafting recipe.

Essence of Undead has no crafting recipe. It is found in the gift loot of tombstones. It is one of the two ingredients of Luminous Essence, which is made from Essence of Undead and one Luminous Water.

Candy Corn is cooked in a campfire from one Sugar. Cooking takes 250 ticks (about 12.5 seconds) and gives 0.35 experience.

Loot Bags come from tombstone gift loot and from the death of the Headless Horseman, which drops three by default. The Loot Bag has no crafting recipe.

The Pedestal has no crafting recipe. It is the starting piece of the Sleepy Hollows Cemetery structure. Its hardness of 36000 means that it practically cannot be broken in survival.

Wrought Iron Fence is crafted from eight Iron Nuggets for sixteen fences. It also appears in the cemetery, and coffin chests hold it in 61.3% of cases (an average of 1.2 when present).

Pack note: Sleepy Hollows structures are placed about 30% closer together than in the original mod, and where they share a structure set with other structures they get six times the weight. The pack does not add extra loot to the mod's structure chests. Coffin chests are shared rather than per-player, because the pack's Lootr mod cannot make them per-player, so their contents are first come, first served.

Spectral Essence

Spectral Essence is the material for most of the mod's content. It is used in:

• Luminous Water, made from a Water Bucket and one Spectral Essence for four bottles;
• the Spectral Lantern, made from eight Iron Nuggets and one Spectral Essence;
• the Spectral Jack o'Lantern, made from a Spectral Carved Pumpkin and one Spectral Essence;
• the Hauntbound Armor set, which uses it as the material ingredient;
• activating a tombstone. Using it on a tombstone spawns up to three guardian skeletons.

Campfire cooking of one Spectral Essence gives one vanilla Rotten Flesh in 300 ticks (15 seconds) and 0.35 experience. This is a source of cheap food early on.

Essence of Undead

Essence of Undead is a single-purpose ingredient. Combined with one Luminous Water, it makes one Luminous Essence, the catalyst for the Pedestal ritual that summons the Headless Horseman.

Candy Corn

Candy Corn is a food that restores 2 hunger and 4 sanity. Along with Dusk Berries (+2 sanity), Luminous Water (+6) and Spectral Pumpkin Pie (+10), it is one of the sanity foods that offset the drain of the Sleepy Hollows biome. Inside the biome a player loses 1 sanity every 5 seconds by day and 2 every 5 seconds at night. A single Candy Corn therefore covers about 10 seconds of night-time loss.

Loot Bag

Right-clicking a Loot Bag opens the mod's gift loot table, which rolls two to four times. The table contains gear such as the Raubbau shovel and the Spectral Waraxe and Shatterbrand. Items that do not fit in the inventory are dropped on the ground.

Pedestal

The Pedestal is a single-item display block with an active state. Right-clicking it with a Luminous Essence starts a 150-tick ritual (60 ticks of emergence, 60 of orbiting and 30 of gathering). The ritual is blocked if a Headless Horseman is already within 64 blocks of the pedestal. When it finishes, the Horseman spawns on a grounded spot five blocks north of the pedestal, and the Luminous Essence is consumed. The ritual is the only summoning method found for the boss. Completionist Banner

Sleepy Hollows Standard is a banner that gives Mental Fortitude to players within eight blocks. Mental Fortitude makes a player immune to all negative sanity changes and restores sanity over time. It is crafted by smithing: one Completionist Banner: Sleepy Hollows, one Smithing Template and one Netherite Ingot make two banners. A wall variant of the banner is also available.

Wrought Iron Fence

Wrought Iron Fence is a decorative fence with a hardness of 5 and a blast resistance of 6, so it needs a pickaxe to break. It connects to adjacent fences and blocks in the same way as vanilla iron bars. The cemetery structure uses it in its fence pieces.
