The Netherite Golem is a large, fire-immune golem added by Golem Overhaul. It has 320 health, 20 armor and a melee attack of 20 damage. It is built by hand rather than found in the world, and it can be ridden. While ridden, it can make a jump attack, and when charged it can summon a group of Coal Golems to fight beside it.
Spawning
The Netherite Golem has no natural spawn entries. It does not appear in any biome, structure or village. It is created only by building the golem pattern, which requires four Ancient Debris blocks and a Carved Pumpkin. The pattern is checked every time a carved pumpkin is used to build a golem, so it also works when a player builds the other golem types. Golem Overhaul also adds a Netherite Golem Spawn Egg, which is crafted with the same pattern and can be used to place a golem without the build.
The build pattern is three rows: an empty space, a carved pumpkin, and an empty space on top; three ancient debris blocks in the middle row; and an empty space, one ancient debris block and an empty space on the bottom row. The golem is spawned when the pumpkin is placed on top. Every Netherite Golem is created as player-made, which means its natural-spawn flag is always off.
See Golem Construction for the general rules that apply to all of the mod's golems.
Does not spawn naturally in any biome (see Obtaining/Spawning text).
Behavior
The Netherite Golem is a passive creature with 320 health, armor 20 and armor toughness 8. It moves at speed 0.14, has a follow range of 16 blocks and resists knockback. It is immune to fire and to fall damage, and it cannot be pushed by fluids. Its standard melee attack deals 20 damage in a 0.5-block radius around its target. It takes no damage from projectiles, cactus or indirect magic damage, so arrows, thrown potions and most magic attacks have no effect on it.
Like the other golems in the mod, it targets hostile mobs and players that attack it. Its target is cleared while it is summoning.
Charging
A Netherite Golem can be charged by right-clicking it with a Lava Bucket. The bucket is consumed and the golem becomes charged. Charging is required for it to summon Coal Golems. Right-clicking it with an empty bucket discharges it.
Gilding
Right-clicking it with a Gold Ingot gilds it, and the ingot is consumed. A gilded golem does not anger piglins. An ungilded Netherite Golem that is in view of a piglin will anger it. This applies to every ungilded Netherite Golem in the world, not only those built by the player. Shearing a gilded golem with Shears removes the gilding and drops one gold ingot.
Riding and jump attacks
When no player is riding it, a Netherite Golem can be mounted by right-clicking it. While a player rides it, jumping triggers a jump attack. The attack animation lasts 25 ticks and the damage is applied after a 14-tick delay. The attack deals 4 + power / 6 damage to every entity in a radius of 1.5 + power / 40 blocks, where power is the jump power. A full-power jump (power 100) uses a bonus of 175 damage and 150 radius, which gives about 33 damage in a radius of 5.25 blocks. During a jump attack, passengers are not hit, but players and other golems are.
Summoning Coal Golems
A charged Netherite Golem can summon Coal Golems. It summons when it has a target, is not already attacking, has no rider and its summon cooldown has run out. Each tick it has a 1-in-100 chance to start a summon. A player riding the golem can also start a summon by pressing the summon key. In the pack, this key is the period key (.), not the default R key listed for the mod. A summon lasts 60 ticks. At tick 40 it spawns five lit Coal Golems around the golem, each of which attacks the golem's current target. The summon cooldown is 1200 ticks (one minute).
The summoned Coal Golems despawn after 2400 ticks and drop no loot. See Coal Golem for their stats.
Repair
A Netherite Golem is repaired with Netherite Scrap. Each scrap restores 80 health.
Drops
A Netherite Golem drops 1 to 3 Netherite Scrap when it dies. It also gives 24 experience points. Shearing a gilded golem drops one Gold Ingot, but that is not a death drop.

Tips
- Build the golem in a safe place, since the four ancient debris blocks cost a lot of netherite. Any carved pumpkin used in the pattern will trigger the build, so keep pumpkins away from the pattern when you do not want a golem.
- Gild the golem with a gold ingot before you bring it near piglins. An ungilded golem in view of a piglin will anger it.
- Keep the golem charged if you want Coal Golem support. A discharged golem does not summon.
- Projectiles, cactus and indirect magic attacks have no effect on the golem. Melee attacks and jump attacks are the main ways to hurt it.
- In this pack the summon key is the period key (
.), not R. Check your controls if pressing R does not summon Coal Golems while riding. - Repair the golem with Netherite Scrap after a fight. One scrap restores 80 health.
