Structory: Towers is a worldgen add-on by Stardust Labs for the Structory mod. It adds biome-themed towers, outposts and temples to the Overworld, Nether and End. It adds no items, mobs or blocks of its own: every addition is a generated structure, placed by structure sets and filled with vanilla loot. In Fear Nightfall it is pinned to version 1.0.10, because the newer build targets a later Minecraft release and crashes on 1.21.1.

Overview

The mod adds about twenty structures, organised into five structure sets:

  • the common towers set, which holds most of the Overworld structures;
  • the rare towers set, which holds four less frequent structures;
  • the ultra rare towers set, which holds a single structure;
  • the nether towers set, which places three structures in the Nether; and
  • the end towers set, which places one tower in the End.

Each structure is a jigsaw structure with its own start pool of template pieces. The mod's structures are grouped on the wiki under Structory Towers, Structory Outposts and Structory Temples and Landmarks.

Content

Overworld towers

Most Overworld structures belong to the common set. Each is tied to a biome family:

Rare and ultra rare structures

Nether and End

  • Strange Outpost spawns in soul sand valleys.
  • Warped Outpost spawns in warped forests. It has the highest weight of the three Nether structures.
  • Fortress Tower spawns in the Nether. Its placement keeps it outside the vanilla nether complexes, such as nether fortresses and bastions.
  • End Tower spawns in the End biomes. It is the only End structure the mod adds.

Mechanics

Structure sets and rarity

Each structure set uses random spread placement with a triangular spread. Within a set, each structure has a weight that decides how likely it is to be the one placed. The spacing and separation values of each set are in the placement tables on the structure pages.

Loot

Most structures have a basic and a top loot table, and a few have a single table. Loot is vanilla items, chosen to suit each structure:

  • The workshop structures have minecart chests holding rails, redstone, TNT and minecarts.
  • The Great Toadstool loot table holds enchanting tables, iron armour and tools, golden apples, Music Discs and mushroom-based items.
  • The sword portal loot table holds obsidian, crying obsidian, warped fungus and warped wood, and a Music Disc.
  • The End Tower loot table holds ender chests, ender eyes, ender pearls, popped chorus fruit, golden apples and armour trim templates.
  • Horse equipment chests hold saddles and horse armour.
  • Potion chests hold vanilla regeneration, harming and poison potions, along with Bad Omen potions and a rare Death potion. See Potions and Brewing.

The per-structure tables on each structure page show the exact contents. Loot is generally placed in chests, and the chest contents follow the rules described in Loot and Chests.

Pillager guards

The Taiga Outpost and the Pillager Lookout each spawn exactly one pillager inside their bounding box. The pillager-outpost structures from other mods are covered on Pillager Outposts.

Changes to vanilla

The mod's data pack changes how pillagers carrying the paranoid tag behave. On load, a function runs every 69 ticks (about 3.5 seconds). It removes the held item from each pillager with that tag and then removes the tag. Pillagers with the tag therefore arrive without the weapon they would normally hold.

In Fear Nightfall

  • Version pin. Fear Nightfall uses version 1.0.10 of the mod. The newer build targets a later Minecraft version and crashes on 1.21.1, so it is not used.
  • Pillager guards. The Taiga Outpost and Pillager Lookout are the structures in this mod that carry guards, so they are the ones to approach with care.
  • Vanilla loot. The structure chests use vanilla loot tables. The pack's changes to loot are covered in Loot and Chests.
