Dungeons and Taverns Enchantments

From the Fear Nightfall wiki · Dungeons and Taverns

The Dungeons and Taverns Enchantments are a set of enchantments added by the Dungeons and Taverns mod. They cover chestplates, boots, bows, crossbows, swords, elytra and the mod's own boss sticks. Most of them come from the chests of the mod's structures, so a player finds them by exploring dungeons, ruins and vaults rather than by enchanting. Several change combat or travel in ways the vanilla enchantments do not, such as explosive crossbow bolts, extra block reach and a boot enchantment that raises the step height.

The pack treats these enchantments as part of its horror progression. The Toxic Lair is one of the horror structures that Fear Nightfall places about 30% closer together, and it is weighted 6× where it shares a set with other structures. Its boss vault holds three of the enchantments described below.

Enchantments

Each enchantment has a level limit, the item types it can be applied to and the cost to apply it. The table below lists those values for every enchantment in the mod. The entries that follow describe what each enchantment does per level and where it is found.

Three enchantments in the mod's data are used by the Dungeons and Taverns bosses: Shulker Boss, Shulker Miniboss and Boss Behaviour. They are not placed in any loot table, item modifier or loot enchantment tag of the mod, so they are not obtained through normal play. They are left out of the entries below.

Antidote

The Antidote is a chestplate enchantment with a single level. It is not related to the potions in Antidotes. While the wearer has poison, the chestplate takes the poison damage: each poison damage tick costs the chestplate 1 durability. The rate of those ticks depends on the poison amplifier. At amplifier 0 the chestplate loses 1 durability every 25 ticks, at amplifiers 1 to 3 every 12 ticks and at amplifier 4 or higher every 10 ticks.

The enchantment also makes the wearer immune to damage from sources tagged as magic, unless the source bypasses invulnerability. It is found in the brewing chest and the boss vault of the Toxic Lair.

Ghasted

Ghasted is a crossbow enchantment with three levels. It makes the crossbow fire explosive bolts. It adds 1.25 seconds to the crossbow charge time at level I, plus 0.25 seconds for each further level. When a bolt hits a block, it makes a small explosion with a radius of 0.4 blocks at level I, growing by 0.1 blocks for each further level. That explosion breaks blocks and creates fire. The bolt also causes a larger blast with a radius of 5 blocks that does not break blocks and knocks back the mobs in it. Ghasted is found in the vaults of the Nether Keep and Port, and an item modifier also applies it to loot.

Gravity

Gravity is a crossbow enchantment with three levels. A bolt that hits a mob or a block creates a blast with a radius of 6 blocks at the target, and a blast with a radius of 10 blocks where it lands. The blasts do not break blocks. Their knockback multiplier is -0.75 at level I and goes down by 0.25 for each further level, so entities are pulled toward the impact instead of being pushed away. It is found in the End Castle, Lighthouse and Ship chests and in the endermite spawner vault of the End Castle.

Illagers Bane

Illagers Bane is a weapon enchantment with five levels. It can be applied to any item in the vanilla weapon enchantable tag. It adds 2.5 damage per level against illagers and witches, so level I adds 2.5, level II adds 5.0 and level V adds 12.5. It is found in the illager mansion library and secret room, the Illager Hideout and Manor library and the pillager outpost treasure chest.

Multishot

Multishot is a bow enchantment with a single level, called Tri-Shot in game. It adds 2 arrows to each shot, so a bow fires three arrows, and adds 10 degrees of spread. It is found in the boss vault of the Toxic Lair.

Outreach

Outreach is a chestplate enchantment with four levels. It increases the player's block interaction range by 0.5 blocks per level, to a maximum of 2.0 blocks at level IV. It is found in the chests of the Dungeons and Taverns Ruins desert ruins, in archaeology digs and in decorated pots, and an item modifier also applies it to loot.

Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is an enchantment with a single level for any item with durability. While the holder is in clear weather, can see the sky and it is daytime, each tick has a 1% chance to repair the item by 1 durability. Daytime is the first 12,000 ticks of each 24,000-tick day. On average this is one repair every 100 ticks while the conditions hold. It is found in the jungle ruins temple chest and in a jungle ruin pot. It is exclusive with the vanilla repair enchantments.

Piercing

Piercing is a bow enchantment with four levels, called Blowthrough in game. Its arrows can pass through a number of entities equal to the level, so level IV passes through four. It is found in the boss vault of the Toxic Lair.

Might

Might is a crossbow enchantment with five levels. Its internal id is power, and it is called Might in game. It adds 0.5 damage per level to arrows fired from the crossbow, so level I adds 0.5 and level V adds 2.5. It is found in the boss vault of the Lone Citadel.

Traveler

Traveler is a boot enchantment with three levels. While the wearer is sprinting on the ground, not sneaking, swimming or flying, it raises the step height by 0.5 blocks at level I, and by 0.1 blocks for each further level. It also raises movement speed while sprinting by 0.01 at level I, and by 0.005 for each further level. The step height bonus does not apply on blocks in the mod's no-step tag. Each tick of sprinting has a 0.1% chance to cost the boots 1 durability. It is found in the Firewatch Towers chests, the shrine chests and the vault and pot loot of the ruins.

Wax Wings

Wax Wings is an elytra enchantment with a single level. It reduces each durability loss from gliding by 1, which removes the normal cost of gliding. At high glide speed the enchantment costs 2 durability every 15 ticks. Additional durability costs apply at high altitude under open sky in clear daytime. It is found in the vault chests of the End Castle, Lighthouse and Ship.

Wither Coated

Wither Coated is a sword enchantment with a single level. A sword with it inflicts Wither for 8 to 10 seconds on each hit, at amplifier I. Each hit also costs the sword 1 durability. It is exclusive with Fire Aspect. It is found in the vaults and chests of the Nether Keep and Port, and in the ominous spawner loot of the keep.

Conductivity Curse

Conductivity Curse is a curse enchantment with a single level. It can be applied to any item in the mod's metal tag. During a thunderstorm, if the holder can see the sky, a lightning bolt is summoned with a 10% chance every 20 ticks. If the item in the main hand is in the mod's extra-lightning tag, a second roll with a 23.3% chance also applies, so holding such a weapon attracts more strikes. It is found in the Witch Villa and Mangrove Witch Hut library and in a witch villa decorated pot.

Obtaining

The enchantments are generated through loot. The loot tables in each entry above are the places where the mod adds them. Enchanted items in those chests carry the enchantments, and the item modifiers for Ghasted and Outreach add them to loot in the same way. The Toxic Lair, the End Castle, Lighthouse and Ship and the Nether Keep and Port are the structures that hold several of them, so they are the main places to search for a full set.
